01

The site was not the thing that got named

Through May 2026, zoice.com had a handful of pages and no blog. HeyGen and Synthesia already had years of coverage. Zoice did not win the category by outgrowing those domains.

When someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, or a Google AI Overview for an avatar video tool, the answer is assembled from pages those systems already trust: listicles, reviews, news, and videos. The brand has to be in those sources. A homepage that says so is not enough.

On this product, about four fifths of the citation work was off the site. The rest was the site itself: a URL a crawler can fetch, a name that matches everywhere, and a page that can close once the person searches the brand.

02

Each answer has its own sources

We mapped the sources those answers were already using for the queries a buyer types. The public version of that habit is the citation studies. ChatGPT and Google are logged apart there. Perplexity and Gemini are not folded into that split.

  • Google AI Overviews leaned on YouTube and on established tool pages. A video can be the citation.
  • ChatGPT and Copilot read a Bing index. A source Bing can see is a source those chats can name.
  • Perplexity and Copilot kept citing “best AI video” listicles on other domains.
  • Gemini kept a different set. A mention that helped one answer did not automatically help the others.

03

Three ways the name got into those sources

The work was mentions, not a link count. We did not buy placements, and we are not publishing a list of every URL.

  • Pages the answers were already citing. We worked to have Zoice added beside the words a buyer uses, on articles and listicles those systems kept pulling in.
  • Pages that could become the cited source. Where an existing article would not add the name, we published our own. Coverage that landed on Yahoo Finance and AP News was part of that set. A large share of the other publishing was on platforms that do not charge a placement fee.
  • Tutorials, including YouTube. A how-to pairs the brand with the question the person actually asks. A tutorial video is also a source an AI Overview can cite, because those overviews treat YouTube as a normal citation.

04

What the buyers did next

The signup log did not stop at the mention. The path we could see was short.

  • A person asked a general question, such as the best AI avatar generator, or how to make a talking video.
  • The answer named Zoice, because a source behind that answer did.
  • They then searched the brand: Zoice, Zoice pricing, Zoice reviews.
  • They compared, and some of them paid. The site’s job at that point was the price, the reviews, and a page that matched the name.

05

What showed up after the name was already in answers

After Zoice was in those answers, mentions we did not pitch started to appear. Creators writing roundups added it. Some articles drafted with a chat model included it because the model already had the name. Social posts in the category started using it.

That is what happened on this product through May 2026. It is not a loop we can switch on for the next company. Each new mention makes another mention more likely only after the name is already in the sources. Before that, nothing compounds.

06

What the log supports

Among the markets we broke out, revenue per user was about $62 in the United Kingdom and about $81 in Mexico. Those two were the highest of the markets we named. We are not publishing a full country table.

  • 650+ paying customers in the first months after the 28 January 2026 launch.
  • 217 of them, about 1 in 3, said an AI assistant is how they found Zoice. In our log that was a larger channel than Google search, and larger than social.
  • 256 of the customers were in the United States.
  • Bing results for the commercial terms we cared about started showing sources that named Zoice. We are not publishing a rank.
  • The site stayed thin while this was happening. The branded search came after the mention.

07

Five checks you can run yourself

If two or more come back empty, the sources behind those answers are not naming you yet. The free site check reads one public URL. It does not run these five prompts for you.

  1. 01

    The brand, with no hint

Ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini what the brand is. A blank, or another company with a similar name, is a miss.

  2. 02

    The buying question

Ask each one for the best tool in the category. Note whether you are named, and who is named instead.

  3. 03

    The sources under the answer

Open the citations. If your name is not in those pages, the answer has nothing of yours to lift.

  4. 04

Bing, for the chats that read it

Search the category on Bing. ChatGPT and Copilot use that index. See whether the results include a page that names you.

  5. 05

The search that follows a mention

In Search Console, look for the brand plus pricing or reviews. If assistants are recommending you, that query usually moves. If it does not, the mention is not reaching a buyer.
