AI Search
Be on the page the answer already trusts.
AI citation building earns a mention on sources that chat products and overviews already reach for. It does not buy a citation.
The same URL has to rank, be quotable, be named in chat, and be a source in the overview.
A named result is published when that client clears the figure.
AI citation building
01 — The gap
The cited page is a list you are not on.
A comparison or a “best of” is the chip. You are absent because nobody sent the publisher a reason to include you.
02 — The work
Cited-source list
Domains and URLs answers already use for your prompts.
03 — The close
Reporting
Mentions earned, mentions declined, and answers that cited the new source.
The work
What this is
Models repeat the sources they can retrieve. If every serious explanation of your category lives on other domains, editing your homepage again will not change the reply. Someone has to explain you where those systems already look.
The method is the same judgment as link building: a page a publisher would keep if nobody were asking for a link. The difference is the target list. We start from URLs that answers already cite, then ask which of those could mention you accurately.
The problem
What usually breaks
01
The cited page is a list you are not on.
A comparison or a “best of” is the chip. You are absent because nobody sent the publisher a reason to include you.
02
You are included and described wrongly.
The mention exists. The pricing, the audience, or the category is stale. The answer copies the stale line.
03
A vendor offers citations as a package.
Placements on sites that no answer cites, sold as AI visibility. The prompt set does not move.
The practice
How ShoutRank approaches it
We collect the domains that show up in your monitoring log and in the industry citation charts where those charts apply. Then we read them. A pitch exists only when the page would be more accurate with you in it.
We do not pay for hidden links, and we do not invent a citation count. A mention counts when the page is live and the description matches the offer.

What the work includes
01
Cited-source list
Domains and URLs answers already use for your prompts.
02
Accuracy notes
What those pages get wrong or omit about you.
03
Pitches worth sending
A correction, a data point, or a missing product, written so an editor can use it.
04
Live mentions
What went up, the URL, and whether a later answer cited it.
Sequence
Process
- 1
Discovery
Start from prompts and overview queries already in the program.
- 2
Audit
List the third-party URLs those answers cite.
- 3
Strategy
Decide which omissions are real and which would be padding.
- 4
Implementation
Contact the editor with the correction or the missing fact. Stop if they do not want it.
- 5
Monitoring
Check that the live page matches what was agreed.
- 6
Optimization
Re-ask the prompts later. A live mention is not yet a citation in the answer.
- 7
Reporting
Mentions earned, mentions declined, and answers that cited the new source.
The desk
Why ShoutRank
Targets come from the answers
We do not start from a domain-rating spreadsheet and work backward to a story.
Accuracy over inclusion
A wrong mention is flagged. It is not reported as a citation win.
No purchased citations
If the placement only exists because it was paid to look organic, it is not this service.
The report
How success is measured
Cited URLs that now mention you accurately.
Prompts that cite those URLs after the change.
Pitches declined, so the list does not pretend every publisher said yes.
A named client result is published when that client clears the figure. Until then the report is the measurement.
ShoutRank does not guarantee a ranking or a citation.

The free check shows the gaps on one public page. If the gap is this service, a neighboring one, or a two-week review, we will say so after you ask.
