AI Search
Are you named, or only ranked?
AI brand visibility is the read of whether answers use your name, a competitor’s name, or a description that does not match you.
The same URL has to rank, be quotable, be named in chat, and be a source in the overview.
A named result is published when that client clears the figure.
AI brand visibility
01 — The gap
The category answer has three names. Yours is not one.
The model learned the set from roundups and docs. You are absent from both.
02 — The work
Name log
Brands mentioned per prompt, in the order the answer used.
03 — The close
Reporting
Names present, names missing, and descriptions that are still wrong.
The work
What this is
A URL can rank while the answer never says the brand. A brand can be named in a sentence that describes last year’s product. Visibility here means the name, the description, and the source, not a blended score.
This is narrower than AI SEO. It is the brand question: when a buyer asks who does this, who gets named. Rankings stay on the SEO log. Citations of a specific URL stay on the engine pages.
The problem
What usually breaks
01
The category answer has three names. Yours is not one.
The model learned the set from roundups and docs. You are absent from both.
02
You are named as a feature of a larger company.
An acquisition, a product line, or a similar name gets collapsed. The reply sends the buyer to the wrong site.
03
Share of voice is a made-up percentage.
Vendors average a handful of prompts and call it the market. We will not publish that as if it were a census.
The practice
How ShoutRank approaches it
We write the questions a buyer asks when they do not yet know you: the category, the alternative, the “who is best for” question. We record every brand the answer names and the sentence attached to yours, if any.
Fixes may be on your about story, on a definition page, or on a publisher that already frames the category. We say which.
Included
What the work includes
01
Name log
Brands mentioned per prompt, in the order the answer used.
02
Description diff
The sentence about you, next to the sentence on your site.
03
Confusion notes
Similar names, old brands, and parent companies the reply mixes up.
04
Where to correct it
Your page, a publisher, or both.
Sequence
Process
- 1
Discovery
List the category questions that should name a brand at all.
- 2
Audit
Ask them in the engines named in the brief.
- 3
Strategy
Write down every name. Do not turn the list into a fake market share.
- 4
Implementation
Correct the shortest public explanation you control.
- 5
Monitoring
Watch whether later answers pick up the new wording.
- 6
Optimization
Add a publisher correction only when the answer prefers that source.
- 7
Reporting
Names present, names missing, and descriptions that are still wrong.
The desk
Why ShoutRank
Names, not a score
You can see who was mentioned. We do not compress that into a single visibility index.
Wrong is worse than missing
A confident incorrect description is called out. It is not counted as presence.
Scoped engines
The report lists the products that were asked. Others are omitted, not estimated.
The report
How success is measured
Prompts that include your current name.
Prompts that describe you in a way the site contradicts.
Other brands named on the same prompts.
A named client result is published when that client clears the figure. Until then the report is the measurement.
ShoutRank does not guarantee a ranking or a citation.
