# The call comes from the map, not the blog.

Search for home services companies: map pack, near-me queries, and seasonal demand for HVAC, plumbing, and roofing. SEO, AEO, GEO, and AIO.
HVAC, plumbing, and roofing buyers search when something fails, or just before the season turns.

If the city page is thin and the profile disagrees with the site, a nearer competitor takes the job.

## The buyer already knows the trade. They do not know who will show up.

A homeowner with a dead furnace does not read a company story. They search the symptom, add the city, and call whoever the map names. Roofing is slower and more expensive, but the comparison still starts with “near me” and a cost range. Plumbing sits between the two: some jobs are tonight, some are a remodel next month.

The usual site fights itself. One URL tries to rank for every city. Service pages repeat the same paragraph with the town swapped in. Google Business Profile hours, the site’s phone number, and the review name are three different businesses. Seasonal pages go up in July and stay live, unlabeled, in January.

## Symptom, trade, and a place.

These are not national head terms. Each one belongs to a service area you actually cover.

### Emergency

Tonight. The page has to show hours, a real phone number, and the area the truck covers.

### Near me

AC repair near me

Maps and the local pack. The profile and the location URL have to describe the same shop.

### Seasonal

Demand spikes, then drops. The page should say the season, not pretend the offer is year-round.

### Cost

A range with what changes the price. A single “call for a quote” block will not be the snippet.

## One location, one service, one season.

The work is the template and the profile, not a pile of city doorway pages.

### Service-area rules

Cities you do not dispatch to do not get a URL. Cities you do get a page with the services, the hours, and the questions that city actually asks.

### Profile and site as one shop

Name, phone, hours, and categories match on the site and on Google Business Profile. Reviews are answered in the same name.

### Seasonal URLs

Tune-up and storm pages carry a season and a date. When the season ends they are updated or consolidated, not left to compete with the evergreen service page.

### A quotable first screen

The opening says who you serve, where, and what a typical job includes. An answer that recommends a contractor needs that sentence.

## Cited domains

reddit.com is the most cited domain in Home services in this snapshot.

This data is accumulated from multiple sources and internal training data, which helps us get the client cited.

## What is at stake

- **Where the job is won.** The map pack and the city page, on the day something fails.
- **URL that should own it.** One service, one area you actually dispatch to.
- **What splits the shop.** Hours, phone, and review name that do not match the profile.

## Three versions of the same truck.

A homeowner searches the symptom and the city, then calls the map. If the profile says one set of hours, the site says another, and last July’s tune-up page is still live in January, a nearer competitor looks like the real company.

## Emergency plumbing in Pune

Symptom, place, and a way to check the claim. A scheduling widget alone gives an answer nothing to lift.

- The hours a person can call, the number that rings, and the neighborhoods the truck covers tonight.
- Remodels are a different page. This one is for a leak, not a kitchen.
- The profile uses this name, this number, and these hours. Reviews are answered as this shop.

## Sequence

1. **Draw the dispatch map.** Cities you do not serve do not get a URL. Cities you do get services, hours, and local questions.
2. **Make one shop.** Site, profile, and review name agree. Categories match the work the branch performs.
3. **Date the season.** Tune-up and storm pages say when they apply. Off-season, they are revised or folded into the evergreen service.
4. **Watch the pack.** Presence for the branches that take calls, and whether an answer names your shop or a directory.

We will not build doorway pages that swap a city into a national paragraph, or buy reviews to fill the profile.

## What we watch

Map-pack presence for the branches that take calls, calls and clicks to those location URLs, and whether an answer names your shop or a directory for the city-modified question.

A named result is published when that client clears the figure. A client figure is added here only after that client clears it.

## Home services questions

### Should every town we drive to have its own page?

Only if a truck actually goes there and the page can say something that town needs: services offered, response window, and a local proof. A swapped city name on a national template is a doorway page, and we do not build those.

### How do near-me queries get assigned?

Near-me is a map and a location URL, not a blog post. We align the Google Business Profile with the location page, then point internal links from the service hub at the branches that perform that service.

### What happens to seasonal pages after the rush?

They are dated and either refreshed for the next season or folded into the evergreen service page. Leaving a winter tune-up live as if it were July creates two URLs for one job.

### Do reviews belong in the SEO plan?

Yes, as operations, not as a schema trick. The review name, the profile name, and the site name should be the same company. We do not buy reviews or mark up reviews the business did not receive.

### Can an AI answer recommend a plumber?

It can name a business when the page states the service area, the job, and a way to check the claim. If those facts live only inside a scheduling widget, the answer has nothing to lift.
